Jessica Stetina

June 24, 1983 ~ July 3, 2019 (age 36)

On July 3rd, 2019, Jessica Bathgate Stetina passed away after a fourteen-month battle with cancer. On that night, the world lost a wonderful woman, and her presence will be sorely missed by her family and her many, many friends. She fought her illness with fierce determination.

Jessi was born on June 24, 1983. She graduated from Calvary Baptist Church Academy in 2001 and attended Liberty University in the fall of 2001. At the time of her death, she was enrolled at the University of Maryland, University College. On May 6, 2011, she married the love of her life, Joe Stetina and they had 3 beautiful children, Cole, Jax and Natalie. Jessi loved her job and her coworkers at TEKsystems, where she worked as a Communications Specialist.

She was kind, generous, quick-witted, and made life fun for everyone around her. Jessi enriched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her passions were spending time with her family, experiencing food from all cultures, attending shows at The Kennedy Center and on Broadway, comedy and journaling. When Jessi was diagnosed with cancer, she started a blog to help sort through the many thoughts that were jumbled in her head. www.cancerunknown.com

Also left to cherish her memory are her loving mother, Paula Ludwig and caring siblings Adrian Donham and Amelia Donham. Her dedicated grandmother, Joyce Bathgate. Her committed Aunt and Uncle, Mark and Karen Acton and her cherished cousins, who she thought of as her brother and sister, Kimberly Duckett (Michael) and Keith Acton.
Jessi was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Bathgate and her beloved Granddaddy, Raymond Bathgate.

Jessi’s family will be forever grateful for the outpouring of support, love and affection for her over the last fourteen months.

A celebration of life will be held for Jessi on July 20, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department, 5200 Southwestern Boulevard, Arbutus, MD 21227

Jessi had many passions and was always thoughtful when helping others. The House of Ruth is one organization that Jessi supported through fundraising and volunteer time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in her name, to The House of Ruth, 2201 Argonne Drive, Baltimore, MD 21218; https://hruth.org/ways-to-give/.
