Charles E. Gardner, Sr., 74, a longtime resident of the Baltimore area, died Wednesday, October 24, 2018. He was the husband of the late Gladys (Freson) Gardner.Born October 28, 1943 in Altoona, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Carmella (Vaccaro) Gardner. Mr. Gardner was employed with Seagram’s Distillery, Baltimore, for many years. A Veteran of the US Army, he proudly served his country honorably during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his children, Charles E. Gardner, Jr. (Sarah), Douglas W. Gardner (Lucy), Georgia Stevenson, Janet Freson, Patty Scheitlin (Ronnie), Kim Wright (Bob), and Joe Freson (Terri); 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Anita Snyder, Janice Fenyes, and Gloria Gardner; and his brother, Thomas Gardner (Margy).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Saint Mary Manor, 701 Lansdale Avenue, Lansdale, PA 19446, and may also call after 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Hubbard Funeral Home, 401 Wilkens Ave., Baltimore, followed by the Prayer Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville, MD.

As a veteran, this organization was a great support to Mr. Gardner and his family. Serving Bucks, Montgomery, and Lehigh Counties, they are dedicated to helping homeless and low income veterans.
