Timothy Wade Latimer, aged 74, of Glenn Dale, Maryland, passed away on February 8, 2025. Born on March 22, 1950, in Washington D.C., Tim was a devoted husband to the late Penny Ellen Latimer and a loving father to Lisa Duke and her husband Tom, James Moore, and Rebecca Moore. He was an admiring grandfather to Amanda Meckley and her husband Jake, Jessica Alwine and her husband Kevin, Alyssa Duke, Kathleen Moore, Maryellen Moore, William Moore, and a great-grandfather to Brenna Meckley, Alanna Meckley, Rissa Meckley, Jameson Alwine, and Jocelyn Alwine. He is survived by his brother, James Walter Latimer III.
Tim attended Mount Calvary Elementary, Bishop McNamara High, St. Mary's College as an English major, and Prince George's Community College where he studied computer science. As a young man, he worked at the Farmers Market and Orpheus Records, and later at many technology companies. Known for his love of books, music, and film, Tim was a great storyteller and a true renaissance man. He traveled Europe in 1979 and throughout his life attended many music and film events, meeting and being photographed with celebrities. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Tim's life will be held on Monday, February 17th from 5pm to 7pm at the Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home, 1630 Edmondson Ave., Catonsville, MD 21228, with remembrances starting at 6pm.
