Shirley L. Murphy (nee Dewling)
On December 30, 2024, Shirley La Rue Murphy passed away peacefully at the Charlestown Retirement Community, Catonsville, MD.   Born in Maryland in 1934 to the late Robert & Ethel Dewling, she later married Bernard Murphy who preceded her in death in 1997. She enjoyed skiing, traveling, and spending time at her beach house in Ocean City.
Shirley is survived by her two children, Don Murphy & his wife Gloria and Steven Murphy & his wife Katherine as well as four grandchildren, Kendall, Connor (wife Marie), Quentin (wife Katelyn) & Branden and two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Jonah.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm at the Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home, 1630 Edmondson Ave., Catonsville, MD 21228 and on Friday at 10:30am at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 711 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD with funeral services at 11am.   Followed by an interment at Loudon Park Cemetery.
