Obituary

Ronald E. Meyers, age 89, of the Seton Hill neighborhood of Baltimore City, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Mercy Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born on July 12, 1936, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Edna M. Meyers (Ferguson) and Roland Meyers. Ron was a proud graduate of Calvert Hall College High School and went on to build a long and varied professional career. He served in several roles throughout his life, most notably at Bon Secours Hospital and the Space Telescope Science Institute.

A man of deep and abiding faith, Ron was a devoted and active member of Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, where he shared his love of music as a choir member for many years. Later in life, he joined Saints Philip and James Catholic Church, where he faithfully served as a pastoral associate for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. This ministry brought him profound joy and fulfillment and stood among the most meaningful chapters of his life.

Ron had a love for travel, with a special affection for Rome, a place he was blessed to visit many times and held close to his heart.

He is survived by his children, Francis Joseph Meyers, Bernadette Marie Lloyd, and Martin Edward Meyers, along with their spouses; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Richard L. Meyers; his companion, Mark Zukaitis; and many devoted friends and church associates.

Ron was preceded in death by his son, Paul Michael Meyers, who passed in 2024, as well as his sister, Ruth C. Doll, and his brother, Jerome Meyers.

A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Saints Philip and James Catholic Church, 2801 North Charles Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21218. Interment will follow at Loudon Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Ron's memory may make memorial contributions in his name to Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saints Philip and James Catholic Church, or the Mount Calvary Church Legion of Mary Ministry.

Ron will be remembered for his faith, kindness, and the quiet but lasting impact he made on all who knew him.
