Phillip Morgan Ramsey Sr., of Silver Spring MD, was born in Washington, D.C. on October 26, 1943. Phillip, known to his friends and family as Phil, Big Phil or Pop, passed, June 4, 2024 in the company of family. He was predeceased by his wife Lillian Rose, whom he married in October of 1971. And survived by his four children, Barbara Marie Stallings (Delbert) Phillip Morgan Ramsey Jr.  (Melissa), Sandra Marie Crocker (Robert) & Jacquelyn Dee Ramsey (Declan Wood), six grandchildren, Mica Marie, Ava Marie, Troy Eugene, Trina Marie, Phillip Taylor & Ashby Lee, and four Great grand children, Micayla Marie, Gianna Michelle, Carter Lee & Landon Cole.

Phil was a devout Christian who believed in the love of God. He loved his family and was a devoted father and a hard-working man. He was able to start up his own dry cleaning service 'Viking Cleaners' that he owned and operated since 1987. Phil was a coach for many sports teams for his children as they grew up. He was a kind, caring man who influenced many people. He would and has given his own shoes directly from his feet to help a stranger in need. Phillip was a very strong man who was able to fight for his life after having a motorcycle accident in 2008 that left him in shock trauma for over 8 months. He did not let that hold him back, teaching himself to write left-handed and having a trike modified specifically for a left-hand rider..

He immensely enjoyed Harley's and was an avid Harley rider. He was seen out riding his trike thousands of miles with his best friend of 68 years, Bob Boyd. He taught his children and grandchildren to ride dirt bikes and target shoot. Phillip was a lifetime member of the  Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) and the NRA. Phillip was also a lifetime member of the Sir Isaac Walter league, MT. Airy Chapter.

The family is holding a memorial service on Wednesday, June 12th at 11am. Pastor Jeff will be officiating at Burtonsville Baptist Church, 3400 Spencerville Rd. Burtonsville, MD. Cemetery service will follow at Union Cemetery 3001 Spencerville Rd. Burtonsville, MD.
