Obituary

On June 10, 2013, ODelle Chance Frey joined her beloved Ed in the arms of their savior. Born on February 18, 1920 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia to the late Roland and Missouri Chance, she wed the late Dr. Edward Leonard Frey, Jr. and shared over 50 years as true partners in lifes great adventure. She grew up as a farmers daughter but became a Registered Nurse, graduating from Womens Hospital in Baltimore. After a brief period of military service and upon her marriage she became a devoted wife, mother and eventually a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her memory remains alive and well in the hearts and minds of her four children, Edward L. Frey, III (Nancy), Charles B. Frey (Gwendolyn), Barry C. Frey (Cathy) and Ginger Browning (Douglas). She is also survived by her sister, Patty Christian, grand children Heather, Beth, Jonathan, Todd, Brien, Chance, Roy, Jennifer and Steven and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Gertrude Waller. Her true loves were her family and extended family but she accented her life as an avid golfer, having been the Womens Club Champion at Turf Valley Country Club several times, and with league duck pin bowling during the winter months. Though she was petite in stature, she was a tower of strength to those who truly knew her and will be missed by those who knew her and remain here and welcomed by all who knew her and have passed on ahead of her. She was a gentle spirit who is now a savored memory. At her request there will be no viewing and grave side services will be held Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 12:15 p.m. at Crestlawn Memorial Gardens, 2150 Mount View Road, Marriottsville, Maryland 21104. Those wishing to do so will have an opportunity to share comments at the grave side. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, Maryland 21802.
