It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Myrtle Ellen Koethe, who died peacefully on October 27, 2025, in Centreville, MD, at the age of 82. A lifelong resident of Baltimore, MD, Myrtle dedicated nearly 50 years of her life to the Baltimore City Government, where her warm spirit and commitment to community service shone brightly, particularly in her role in the human resources department.

Myrtle was a person of exceptional kindness, deeply devoted to her family and community. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was solving crossword puzzles or whipping up delicious meals for loved ones. Her cooking was a testament to her love, creating memories around the table that her family will cherish forever.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Elmer Koethe, as well as her son, David Housand, her daughter, Grace Koethe, and her cherished granddaughter, Courtney Housand, Myrtle's spirit lives on in her family. She is survived by her loving children, Edward Housand, Roxanne Koethe, and Karen Koethe, along with her daughter-in-law, Lisa Housand. Myrtle also leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her grandchildren: Michael Burr, Krystal Snow, Chelsea Housand, Kristie Powell, Matthew Powell, Heather Housand, Craig George, Jeffrey George, Dennis Crum, and Michael Cain, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a wealth of friends who considered her family.

Myrtle's life was a testament to love, compassion, and community. She touched the hearts of many, and her memory will forever be a guiding light in the lives of all who knew her.
