Bell, Mary Frances (nee Barkman)

Mary Frances (Barkman) Bell, age 91, departed this life on February 19, 2009 at the Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville, MD.  Daughter of the late George J. and Clara (Storck) Barkman, she was raised in Laurel, MD and was a graduate of LaurelHigh School.  Before moving to Charlestown in 2001, she was a long time resident of Potomac, MD.

Mrs. Bell was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, as well as a retiree of the Sears Roebuck Company.  She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Charles, and by her two brothers, George S. Barkman and Charles Barkman.  She is survived by her sister, Jean Kelliher, of Lakeville, Minnesota.  She leaves her two children, Sally Bell, of Lutherville, MD and Charles Bell and his wife Sharon, of Avon, CT, as well as two grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hubbard Funeral Home.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Angels Chapel (Charlestown) on Tuesday, February 24th at 11:00 AM.  The family will receive friends for one-half hour prior to the funeral mass.  Interment Meadowridge Memorial Park.
