On May 28, 2017, Marilyn Rogers Brewer passed away peacefully in her sleep at Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville, Maryland. She was the sole child born in 1925 to William Thomas Rogers and Mary Kathryn Rogers in Baltimore. Marilyn lived in Maryland her entire life. She married Walter Stewart Brewer, Jr. in Severna Park, MD on October 18, 1947. They ultimately settled in the Round Bay Community on the Severn River in Severna Park, Maryland and raised their family there. Marilyn was predeceased by Walter in 1981. The Brewer family matriarch is survived by her seven loving children; Mary Jane Brewer May of Aiken, S.C., Carolyn Brewer Goodman of Virginia Beach, VA, Walter Stewart Brewer, III, of Severna Park, MD, William Thomas Brewer of Arnold, MD, James Arthur Brewer of Arnold, MD, Kathryn Brewer Waxman of Boyds, MD, and Gerard Rogers Brewer of Charlotte, NC; and their families. She will also be remembered and loved by her thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held in Our Lady of the Angels Chapel at Charlestown on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 12:00 PM, the family will receive guests from 11:30 on. She will be buried alongside Walter at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the American Heart Association. The family greatly thanks all the caring and loving staff of Dorsey and Evergreen Place at Charlestown Retirement Community for their compassion and excellent care.
