It's with heavy hearts our mother, sister, daughter, grandmother and great grandmother, friend and member of Catonsville Baptist Church. Malinda Nadine Nider {Leard} (69) born and raised in the Baltimore/Catonsville area has gone to rest in God's loving arms. Born October 12,1954. God gifted her with the voice of an Angel, her love for God and passion of music was incredible. In addition to singing in church with her talents to include standing room only at Easter singing He is Alive, never a dry eye in the church. She was the lead singer in the band Southern Breed with her late husband Harold Dean Smith Sr. She was also a member of the 4100 club in Brooklyn Park as Shortcake the clown with her late husband William Nider. She loved helping others, squirrels, horse's, birds, football, traveling with her fiancé Larry Deloach and was a member of Ravens Roost 55 where she participated in many charities and had won many Karaoke contest at conventions. Malinda had also been a karaoke host for many years as well as managing Mo and Trish's. For fifteen years she was the Executive Assistant at Bally Total Fitness.
Her love, laughter and infectious smile touched so many people. She will be missed by many to include Marley Neck Health and Rehab. Special Thank You for loving our mother. Her fiancé Larry Deloach, daughter Teresa Marie Smith, son Harold Dean Smith Jr, daughter in law Cindy Miller, daughter Angel Lynn Leisner, son in law Jamie Leisner, daughter Gina Haddix and son Kasey Jones. Grandchildren were her life she loved each and every one of you. Samantha Jones, David Sentz Jr, Jeffrey Smith, Jason Fawks, Shannon Smith, Clementine Smith, Aiden Smith, Tyler Fleetwood, Devon Leisner, Morgan Leisner, Gavin Leisner, Kaylee Jabob's. Jenna Whiteley, Shane Whiteley and Briana Nilsen.
Great grandchildren Kiera Lucas, Gavin Lucus and Lyric Smith.
She would want us to continue to live with Light and Love in our days ahead She is with her loved ones to include Ruby Mae. Remember it's never goodbye, it's see you later alligator, after while crocodile.
In lieu of flowers we are asking family and friends to make donations towards funeral cost.
Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, from 2pm to 3pm with a funeral service following at 3pm at the Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home, 1630 Edmonston Ave. Catonsville, MD 21228.
