Magdalena Guenschel (nee Hugel) born in Romania in 1932, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021.Leni attended The Maryland Institute, studying drawing and clothing construction. Before becoming a wife and mother, she worked as a seamstress, a drill press operator at Koppers during the Korean War, as a layout artist and window display dresser for Stewart's and Hecht-May Department Stores, then designed emblems for Lion Brothers Embroidery in the early 60's. She painted, was an avid gardener, and lived a loving, creative life. Beloved wife of the late Helmut Guenschel; devoted mother of Nessi Harvey and Andrea Guenschel; loving grandmother of Julia Levine, Craig Younkins, Sarah Harvey, Jacob, Natalia, Veronica and Oliver Sakk; dear sister of Joseph Hugel and the late Elisabeth Hugel. Relatives and friends are invited to visit the Hubbard Funeral Home, Inc. 4107 Wilkens Avenue Baltimore, Maryland 21229 on Monday, March 22 from 6 until 8 pm. Funeral services will be private.
