On September 21, 2016, Lois L. Thobe quietly passed away. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl W. Thobe. She is survived by children, Carl William Thobe and his wife, Patricia, Marcella Thobe Roberts and her husband, Vernon, and Paula Thobe Wright and her husband, Bill; grandchildren, Brittany Thobe and Matthew Greth; and great granddaughters, Athena Alexander and Olivia Greth. Lois was a lifelong member of Old Otterbein Church. She was a superb seamstress who created clothes for her children, clients, and costumes for church presentations. She also created symbolized banners to hang in the church sanctuary and robes for the alter boys thoughout the years. Lois also was a Girl Scout Leader, spending many weekends camping with her "girls". This also began a lifelong love for camping that led to trips around the country with her husband and their children. Her early retirement years were spent in Myrtle Beach, where she and her husband developed a passion for golf. For the past 21 years, Lois has lived at Charlestown Retirement Community so as to be closer to her children. Lois rests at HUBBARD FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4107 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21229 where her family will receive guests on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 from 2-4 & 6-8pm. Her funeral service will be Wednesday at 11am in the funeral home. Donations in her memory, instead of flowers, is preferred.
