Karola Brigitte Ferte passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of May 7, 2026, at the age of 90. Born in Germany, Karola carried the strength, resilience, and spirit of her homeland with her when she immigrated to the United States at just 21 years old. What she built afterward was not simply a life, but a world. A world filled with music, celebration, laughter loud enough to travel through walls, and tables so full of extraordinary German food that no one ever left hungry.

Karola was legendary among family and friends for her unforgettable themed parties, where every detail mattered and every guest felt like the most important person in the room. She had a gift for creating joy out of ordinary days and turning gatherings into memories that would be retold for decades. She is survived by her beloved husband, Gerald Ferte; her daughter, Regina Smith; her granddaughter, Kimberly Vonn; and her cherished great-granddaughters, Aria Vonn and Aubree Vonn.
