On October 21st, 2021, Josephine Antonucci Dempsey, age 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was the beloved wife of the late Jerome Dempsey; devoted mother of Richard Dempsey and his wife Laurie; Gerald Dempsey; Shannon Dempsey; and the late Norma Lee Diederichs; loving "Gammy" of Meagan Campbell; Colin Campbell; Emily Little; Jennifer Dempsey; Patrick Dempsey and his wife Tara; Casey Herr and her husband Jeremiah; Ryan Dempsey and his wife Erin; Kaitlin Campbell; Sara Schramm; Mark Diederichs; Tammy Cupp; and Lori Russo; and cherished great-grandmother to many great-grandchildren.

Josephine was born in Pittsburgh on August 12th, 1926, to Anthony and Angelina Antonucci. She married Jerome Dempsey in January of 1951 and together they had three children: Rick, Jerry, and Shannon, and welcomed Norma Lee, Jerome's daughter from his first marriage, into their family. Aside from being a devoted and loving wife and mother, Josephine was a homemaker and in her later years, a beloved cafeteria worker whom the students at Westchester Elementary affectionately called "Miss Jo." Known best for her generosity, humor, and kind spirit, Josephine will be deeply missed by friends, family, and all who knew her.
