Obituary

On February 2, 2017, Josephine Mary Collins passed away peacefully. She was born to Francis and Rosalie (Colletti) Marchant on March 9, 1934 in Norristown, PA. She married the late Gilbert F. Schluderberg in September of 1951 and was widowed in December of 1958. They had two children. On April 20, 1963 she married the late Christopher R. Collins who adopted her two girls. They had two children. They began their married life in Baltimore, MD. In 1968, they moved to Bayberry on the Magothy in Arnold, MD where she completed her Fine Arts degree. She spent 34 years raising her four children who span 16 years. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, crabbing, hosting parties, playing cards (playing Bridge for 45 years with a group of Baltimore friends), and developing her artistic talent in carving and painting. In 2009, she moved to her �cruise ship on land,� the Charlestown Retirement Community. She was active in the Fireside Artist Committee, the Mexican Train group, Social Strollers, Bocce, Lighthouses of Prayer, and was a sales ambassador. She is predeceased by her brother Anthony Marchant and sister Mary Zeller. She is survived by sister, Zita Bauer; children, Rose Ann Wade, Mary Jo Klovensky, Mark Collins and Lynn Bournia; grandchildren, Adam, Tim, Katie, Laura, Sara, Olivia, Emily and Zach; six great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Collins rests at Hubbard Funeral Home, Inc., 4107 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21229. The family will receive guests on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 5 � 8 pm. A celebration of life will be held at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Community on the Charlestown Campus, 711 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, MD 21228 on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 1:00 pm. The family will receive guests prior to service from 10:30 � 12:30 pm at the Charlestown Art Gallery. Interment is private.The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Saint Agnes Hospital staff and Charlestown Care Center for their support in her final days.In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Church of the Holy Apostles 4922 Leeds Avenue, Arbutus, MD 21227.
