On November 7, 2020 Joseph A. Butler, son of the late Joseph V. and Alma (Moeller)Butler, brother of the late Frances Butler, beloved husband of the late Eileen P. (Gallagher) Butler, devoted father of Mary T. Butler and her husband, the late Stephen Rennings, Joseph G. Butler, and his wife, Jayne, the late Catherine R. Chiaramonte and
her husband, Ralph, Michael T. Butler and his wife, Jean, Margaret E. Williamson and her husband, George, Patrick J. Butler and his wife, Kelly, the late Edward J. Butler,
Paul T. Butler and his wife, Jennifer, and John C. Butler and his wife, Dawn. He is survived by twenty-four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved great grandson, Henry R. Chiaramonte. Born in 1929, he grew up in Brooklyn, New York, graduated from St. John's University, and is a United States Army Veteran. He married Eileen in 1957 and moved to Maryland in 1960, residing for many years in Woodlawn, for several years in Westminster and most recently at the Charlestown Retirement Community. He retired from the Social Security Administration where he worked for more than twenty-five years as a programmer and, ultimately, deputy division director.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his name may be made to the Benevolent Care
Fund at Charlestown Retirement Community, 711 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville,
Maryland, 21228.
