JoAnn Marie Hargadon, was born to the late Joseph Wilson and Eleanora Catherine Hargadon on March 7, 1949, in Baltimore, MD and returned to her heavenly home on Sunday, December 29, 2019. Her devotion to her family and her faith supported her through her years of health struggles which has ultimately given her peace.
JoAnn was funny, sassy, and festive at heart. She was kind, thoughtful, artistic and loved her Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator.
JoAnn was blessed with a large and loving family full of siblings, cousins, and friends that she considered family. Joann is survived by her brother, Joseph (Diana) Hargadon and Karen (Joseph) Topper, her nieces, Jennifer (Jay) VanKirk, Deanna (Nick) Thomas, Tara Hargadon (Justin) Tankersley and Melissa (Cindy) Reynolds, as well as her grandnieces and grandnephew, Abigail VanKirk, Jacob VanKirk, and Caroline Tankersley. Joann is also survived by her dear friend of 6 years, Gil Stebbings. She is preceded in death by her sister, Juney; and her parents.
Visitations will be held Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 2-4pm as well as 6-8pm at Hubbard Funeral Home, 4107 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21229. Funeral arrangements are on Friday, January 3 at 10:00 a.m. at Hubbard Funeral Home followed by Committal Services at the Loudon Park Cemetery at the Chapel of Roses at 3620 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21229 at 11:00 a.m. A private burial will immediately follow.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, you please make a donation in the name of JoAnn Hargadon to the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center at 22 S. Greene Street Baltimore, MD 21201 or the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center Wound Health and Hyperbaric Medicine Center at 301 Hospital Drive, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
