Jeanne Elizabeth Frost Russell was born on June 3, 1923 and was the fourth child of Fred Carroll and Mabel Finnell Frost.She was born and raised in Berwyn Heights, and she was a 1940 graduate of Hyattsville High School.While attending high school, Jeanne won the Golden Mirror beauty contest.

She married George Gibson Russell on October 26, 1942.They remained in Berwyn Heights, and had four children:Nancy Carol Russell Scoville, Pamela Frost Russell, Patricia Ann Russell Ruby, and William Gibson Russell.When the children got older, she went to work for the Harry B. Cook Company.In June of 1977, they moved to St. Mary's County, where Gib was born and raised.Jeanne enjoyed her new life there, and her favorite activities would include gardening, traveling, sewing, quilting, and walking.

In October of 1993, it became apparent that she could no longer take care of Gib, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's many years prior.She left her beautiful home on the water and moved to a retirement community, Heritage Harbor, in Annapolis.Gib moved into St. Martin's Home in Catonsville, and was taken care of by the beautiful Little Sisters of the Poor.She spent many, many days with Gib at St. Martin's, and continued to volunteer there for many years after his death there in 1999.In 2005 her youngest daughter, Patty, also died at St. Martin's, so it was very natural and normal for Jeanne to return there after her devastating stroke in January of 2012.

Jeanne was a very active and determined person.She spent her 80th birthday camping.She slept on the ground in a sleeping bag for many years, but finally resorted to a cot sometime in her early 80's.She was up at 5:30 A.M. making coffee and scouting the camping grounds. She loved to decorate, and Christmas was her favorite season. Getting on a 10 foot ladder at 85 was no problem for her.Her tree could have easily given the White House some competition.

Jeanne finally returns to Holy Redeemer Church where she was baptized and raised.She also met and married Gib at Holy Redeemer, and she raised her own family there. It is only fitting that her death be celebrated at a place she called "home."
