Smith passed away on April 17, 2019 surrounded by the love of his family and friends.  He was proceeded in death by his parents, James Alex Smith and Stella Chavis Smith; brothers Ronald C Smith, Stelford L Smith, C. Dwight Smith and Kenneth E Smith. 2 sister Dovie Jaqueline Smith, and Vivian Allen. He leaves to Cherish memory 2 sisters Helen Lowery and Lethia Hunt, 1 brother Gary L Smith.

Devoted to his Cherished best friend Betty Biggs and Grandchildren Laise and Joshua Levin, Ashley Epling, Tyler Gibson. Great Grandchildren Noelle Harkless, Troy Harkless, his namesake Alexander James Levin, and Bellamy Levin.
