Mr. Jacob Samuel Monroe Foerster, Jr., 71, of Saxis, husband of Jan Rae Foerster, passed away on July 11, 2016 at his residence. Born on January 5, 1945 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Jacob Samuel Monroe Foerster, Sr. and Marion E. Greenstreet Foerster. Jake retired from Verizon and was known by many as the "Jake the telephone man". He served in the Air Force as a Sergeant and was a Town Council member of the town of Saxis, serving under three Mayors. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Other than his wife, he is survived by his children, Terry Bloom and her husband, Tom, Lou Ann Ridgely, and Mickey Beach and his wife, Bambi; grandchildren, Stephanie Pileggi, Amanda McKnight, Kaitlyn Ballard, Laura Rando, Sarah Jones, Brianna Beach, Sadie Beach, Gary McKnight, Jr., Mickey C. Beach and Jacob Allen Ridgely; and great-grandchildren, Zach Gillespie, Nicholas Hood, Donovan, Benjamin Blevins, Nathan Pileggi and Zoey Gillespie. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Richard McKnight and Gary McKnight; two brothers, John E. Foerster and Robert B. Foerster; and a granddaughter, Leslie Gillespie. A viewing was held Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at the Saxis United Methodist Church in Saxis. A funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, July 17, at 8:00 PM at the Hubbard Funeral Home, Inc. in Baltimore, where the family will also receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 PM and 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Sunday.
