On Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the age of 82 years, residing at the Charlestown Retirement Community, Mr. Harry C. Helmlinger, beloved husband of Frances A. Johnson Helmlinger; father of Kathleen Grab, Faith Soistman Renn (Randy), Harry Charles Helmlinger III (Paula), Jane Stultz Anderson, Walter John Helmlinger (Colleen), and Elizabeth Ruppert (John). Cherished Step-Father of Gary (Sandra), David (Deborah), Robert (Melissa), and Mark (Patricia) Johnson. Cherished Grandfather of Jason (Laurie) and Kevin (Kimberly) Soistman, Charlie IV (Mona), Mary (Rocky) and Brieanna Helmlinger, James, Heidi, Holly (David), Heather Stultz, Meghan and Emily Ruppert, Matthew (Heather) Grab, and Alexander and Katelyn Helmlinger. Loving Step-Grandfather of Tracy Moog (Jeffrey), Bryan, Daniel, William and Benjamin Johnson. Loving Great Grandfather of Jill and Lindsey Soistman, James Stultz III, Paige Stultz, Chasity Argile, Grace and Makayla Shore and Emily Mogg. Devoted Son of the late Harry and Fannie Helmlinger, Brother of Ruth Hass and the late Helen Young. He was previously married to Kathleen Edmondson.
He worked for Grace Davison for 39 years, he had also worked in research for many years and received a number of US Patents. He retired as a Plant Superintendant at the Grace/Davison Silica Plant at Curtis Bay and stayed on as a Consultant for 12 years.
Harry was active in coaching amateur Soccer, Baseball and Basketball. Also, he was an active fisherman and gardener. Harry was a volunteer at the National Aquarium in Baltimore for over 23 years.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, May 4th, 2010 from 3-5:00 and 7-9:00 PM in HUBBARD FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4107 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 5th, 2010 at 10:00 AM in the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in remembrance to the Charlestown Benevolent Care Fund, 719 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville, Maryland 21228.
