Gloria J. "Jeanie" Smith, a lifelong resident of Baltimore City, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on August 22, 1952, Jeanie was known for her warm heart, beautiful singing voice, and deep love for her family and friends.

Jeanie spent her entire life in Baltimore City, a place she loved dearly. She attended St. Peter's Church of the Apostle through the eighth grade and remained a devoted member of the parish for many years, faithfully attending Mass every Sunday until the church closed in 2008. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she shared her gift of music with the congregation by singing at church each Sunday. Her beautiful voice also graced many weddings throughout the years, as family and friends often requested her heartfelt singing for their special occasions.

Jeanie found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time with family, singing, and especially playing bingo, which became her favorite pastime. Whether going with family or gathering with friends several times a week, she cherished the laughter and companionship those moments brought. She was also a devoted fan of the Baltimore Ravens and rarely missed watching a game on television.

Jeanie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, James C. Smith and Doris Lee Sleeman Smith; and by her sisters, Kathleen Smith and Charlene Smith. She leaves behind her loving brothers, James (Cynthia) Smith and Richard Smith; her cherished nephews, Jason, Jeremy, Jerome "Jerry," and Joseph "Joey" Smith; and her adored great-nieces and great-nephews, Helena, Parker, Preston, Peyton, Zoey, Stella, and Harper Smith. She is also survived by many extended family members, dear friends, and former co-workers whose lives were touched by her kindness, laughter, and loving spirit.

Jeanie will be remembered for her gentle heart, her devotion to those she loved, and the joy she brought to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her memory and song will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
