Gloria Bolton, a muggle-born, but very magical Gryffindor, passed away peacefully in a room filled to the brim with people that loved her on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.

Born June 11, 1949, in Baltimore to Gloria and Leslie Hite, Gloria was the oldest of six children, including Edward Hite, Mary Wheaton, Nancy Knott, Michele Hite, and George Hite. Gloria adored her sisters – they were her best friends throughout her entire life. From an early age to the very end, Gloria loved to dance. She was even featured many times on Baltimore's teen dance television show The Buddy Deane Show.

In 1968, Gloria married her husband Edward Bolton Sr. They had two children, Edward Jr. and Kimberly. Together as a family, they loved to go camping in their pop-up RV. Gloria was the ultimate mom and never missed one of her kids' sports games or activities.

Gloria started work as a teller in banking and swiftly moved her way up into a management position. She prided herself on being a woman in a male-dominated field and loved being a mentor for other women and her employees. She was always willing to help people move up – never taking credit, but always working behind the scenes to help people grow professionally.

While her work was notable, there was nothing that she was prouder of than her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and showered them and her great-grandchildren with perfectly thought-out gifts from Girl-Power artwork to a full set of hard-bound Harry Potter novels.

Each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren had a special connection with her, but that bond also extended to her nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was Mom-Mom, Go-Go, and Aunt Gloria to any child she met – and she didn't need a Memory Charm to remember any of their birthdays or big events.

She is noted for always having something you could use in her basement. "I'll bring that for you the next time I see you," she would say. And she did, whether you liked it or not. It could have been from a yard sale, a bargain find, or stored for 30 years, but she could always find just the right thing. Everyone will miss her seasonal delivery of shaped butter – turkeys, rabbits, and trees always traveled with her to family potlucks. She was important in those seasons, and no one will slice the star off a butter tree without thinking of her fondly.

There will never be a bigger fan of Harry Potter to walk the Earth. She commanded control of her TV with a wand and had a Harry Potter Lego collection that would make Dumbledore blush. Her patronus was most likely a Dachshund because of how much she loved her pup Hope, and one of her all-time favorite memories was visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and having a Butterbeer with her sisters.

Her family is incredibly grateful to have shared so many special memories with her recently, from her sister-trip to Florida, to her great-grandson's high school graduation and prom, to her great-nephew's Naval bootcamp graduation, to her very first Orioles game at Camden Yards for her 74th birthday. Gloria lived life to the fullest, and her light will keep shining.

Gloria will be missed forever and remembered always by her husband, siblings, and children. Her legacy will live on through her grandchildren Zach (wife, Erica), Raven, and Katelynn, and great-grandchildren Jaden, Savannah, Camden, Shayla, Adelyn, and Shakur Jr. Gloria is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. She was sadly preceded in death by her parents, her brother George, and her granddaughter Samantha.
