Obituary

Ernest Yung Ling Yuan of Catonsville, Maryland passed away at his home on November 8, 2014. He was 93 years old. He was born on May 7, 1921 in Beijing, China and graduated from Peking Catholic University. He worked for the Civil Air Transport as well as the Insurance Inspection Service in China. Upon his arrival in the USA, he was employed by Nationwide Insurance as an Agency Manager until his retirement in 1985. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Rosalind Chih-Hui Wang and his two brothers, Yuan Yung-Hou and Yuan Yung-Da. He is survived by his two sisters, Yuan Yung-Jun and Yuan Yung-Ming, both of China. He was also survived by his wife of eight years, Liang Zhi-ru. He was the devoted father of Jimmy, Chester and Arlene, Billy, Jon and Liz Yuan, and Beverly and Rich Foster. He was affectionately called YeYe or Gong Gong by his beloved grandchildren, Mecael, Kim, Bradford, Kristina, David, Alyssa, Andrew, Kyle, Eric, Adam, Lindsay, and Patrick along with great grandchildren, David II and Kate. Mr. Yuan rests at the family operated HUBBARD FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4107 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21229, where friends are invited to call on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 4-8 PM and on Saturday, November 15th from 9-10 AM. Funeral Services will follow on Saturday at 10:30 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be directed to the Rosalind Yuan Scholarship Fund, School of Nursing, Alum & Dev office, PO Box 801015, Charlottesville, VA 22908 or online at www.giving.virginia.edu/supportnursing and please designate to the Rosalind Chih-Hui Yuan Scholarship Fund. Mr. Yuan's family wishes to extend an invitation to his friends to join them for a continued celebration on Saturday, November 15th from 11:30am to 2:30pm at Matthews 1600 Restaurant, 1600 Frederick Avenue, Catonsville, MD 21228.
