On Saturday, January 16, 2016, Elma Doris Oakjones went to be with her Lord, surrounded by her family. She was 93 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Oakjones, Sr., her son, Donald Oakjones, Sr., and her siblings, Catherine, William, Wilbert, Gladys, and Charles King. She is survived by her two children, George Oakjones and his wife, Kathryn and Deborah Meade and her husband, Paul; mother in law of Jane Oakjones; grandmother of six; and great grandmother of five.
Doris graduated from Western High School in 1940. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Doris retired from the University of Maryland - School of Dental Hygiene. Family was the most important thing in her life. She was a full time Mom and Nana.
Mrs. Oakjones rests at the family operated HUBBARD FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 4107 Wilkens Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21229 where her family will receive guests on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Parkwood Cemetery.
