Elgenia Devona Pender went to be with her heavenly Father November
24, 2021. She was born May 20,1979 in Chicago, Illinois to Shirley
Oliver Myles and Elgene P. Myles. She loved the Lord and her family.
Elgenia honorably served four years in the United States Navy and
worked as a civilian for the Department of the Navy for the last
seventeen years. She was employed at the Washington Naval Yard in DC at the time of her death.

She was an enthusiastic fan of the Washington (Redskins) Football
Team. Elgenia lived a family-loving, adventurous life, and she touched
the hearts of everyone she met. Elgenia was a caring soul and
envisioned starting a non-profit organization to help the homeless and
veterans in need. Elgenia's beloved children, and her grandchildren were her heart.
She is survived by her mother, Shirley Wright; her children, Joshua
Myles Reed (Olivia Martin), Pacarri Brown, Ashanti Pender and Gabriel
Pender; and her siblings, Desmond Wright, Brooke W. Smith (DeShea
Smith), Oliver Shea Wright (Trisha Pascall-Lopez, M.D.), Elgene
Robinson, Elisa Myles, Joseph Myles, Hannah Myles and Emmanuel Paul
Myles. She was "Gigi" to her granddaughters Marley and Aubrey.
She is also survived by her uncle, Walter Oliver; her aunts, Mary
Cheeseman, Irma Chislom, Mary Edmond (Robert Edmond) and
Annette Wright, and Carolyn Bender; her special cousins, Deionne, Imen, April, Will and
Water "Pee Wee"; her best friends Nakiea, Troy and Kym; her special
niece Genesis and her godson Troy Jr;and
a host of cousins and friends.

We all loved you so much, you shall forever live in our hearts. We know
you're resting in Jesus Christ arms, and we will see you again.

A Memorial service will be held at World Outreach Worship Center 1233 Shields Rd. Newport News, VA 23608 on Saturday December 18th, 2021 at 2pm. Friends and family are welcome to gather at 1:30 in church prior to the service. Interment private.
