On March 16, 2013, Doris E. Spurgeon, 99,of Charlestown Retirement Community. Doris was born on August 26, 1913 in Sodus, Michigan. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Edwin Spurgeon. She is survived by her sons Roger L. Spurgeon, Sr. and his wife Zelma Spurgeon and Thomas E. Spurgeon; five grandchildren, Roger L. Spurgeon, Jr.of Arbutus, MD, Lori Spurgeon Layton of Arbutus, MD, Brent A. Spurgeon of Arbutus, MD, Patrick Spurgeon of Florida, Michael E. Spurgeon of Severn, MD; eight great grandchildren, Brandi Layton, Britney Layton, Alyse Campbell, Ashleigh Spurgeon, Roger L. Spurgeon, III, Cody Spurgeon, Brayden, Spurgeon, and Brynn Spurgeon.
Mrs. Spurgeon rests at the family operated HUBBARD FUNERAL HOME, INC., where friends are invited to call on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 from 1-3PM and 5-7PM.Funeral Services will be held at Our Lady of the Angels Chapel at Charlestown on Thursday at 10:30AM. Interment in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens.
