Diane Louise Piechowiak, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, faithful Catholic, and cherished friend, entered eternal rest on August 4, 2026, at the age of 83. Born to the late Wilbur S. Stem and Bertha Louise Stem (née Slimmer), Diane attended the Shrine of the Sacred Heart School in Mount Washington and graduated from Mount Saint Agnes High School, where she served as president of the school's glee club.

Music played a meaningful role in Diane's life, as it was during a Calvert Hall College High School musical that she met Edward Piechowiak, her beloved husband, who predeceased her in December 2025. They were married on June 10, 1961, and shared a life centered around faith, family, and service to others.

A devout Catholic, Diane lived her faith through prayer and countless acts of service. She served her church in various roles and was an active member of the social club. Her dedication extended beyond her church as she served as a Cub Scout den mother, Girl Scout leader, and member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Above all, she was her children's greatest supporter.

Diane enjoyed duckpin bowling, line dancing, and traveling the world. Her adventurous spirit and warm smile made every journey meaningful.

She is survived by her loving children, Michael and his wife, Jocelyn; Stephen and his wife, Nicole; Theresa Wertz and her husband, Trent; and William and his wife, Carol. She was the treasured grandmother of Travis Wertz and his wife, Jessica; Toni Frankenberry and her husband, Ryan; Taylor Plummer and her husband, Mark; Kayla Illescas and her husband, Bradley; Thomas Piechowiak; Marley Piechowiak; Delaney Piechowiak; and Addison Piechowiak. Diane was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Joyce Klein and Sharon Burkley, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Along with her husband, Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur S. Stem and Bertha Louise Stem (née Slimmer). Diane will be remembered for her unwavering faith, generous heart, joyful spirit, and deep devotion to her family. Her life was one of service, kindness, and love, and the many lives she touched will remain her lasting legacy.
