Barbara "Barb" Bechtel was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, the beloved daughter of the late Harry C. Bechtel Jr. and Dorothy Bechtel. Barb was doted on and deeply loved throughout her childhood, a care and warmth she carried with her all her life.

She dedicated many years of service to the Baltimore City School System, where she worked as a school secretary. Her kindness, humor, and reliability made her a favorite among colleagues, students, and friends alike. Barb had a gift for making friends wherever she went, and her circle of companionship extended far and wide.

Barb found her eternal rest on October 1st, 2025. Though she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, her spirit is home—at peace and forever remembered with love and gratitude.
