On August 11, 2023, ANNA MARGARET HAGERMAN went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 13, 1919 in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Mary (née Hefner) and Andrew Zeller. She was the loving wife of the late John Hagerman (Jack). She is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Davidson (Michael), Ina Handlir (Gregory), Mary Cohen (Paul) and her son, Stephen. She was the devoted grandmother of Jason, Katy, Shannon, John, Ben, Kim, and great grandmother of eight great grandchildren.

Born on Old Harford Road, Anna had two older brothers, Charles and Paul. The family moved to Pearlman Place in Baltimore City when she was in her late teens. Not long after that, she was shopping in a Greek delicatessen when she met her Jackie Boy. It was love at "first sight" and they were married on December 12, 1938. They were married 57 years. When her husband joined the Marines and went to the Pacific during World War II, she kept the home fires burning.

She was a devout Catholic, a Third Order Franciscan, and a member of the parishes of St. Katharine of Sienna and Shrine of the Little Flower. She volunteered at the Franciscan Center and delivered Meals on Wheels.

Anna became a seasoned traveler in her later years visiting Niagara Falls, Martha's Vineyard, and Marco Island, taking her first plane trip at 80 years old.

After living with her daughters for several years, she admitted herself to St. Martin's Home in Catonsville, run by The Little Sisters of the Poor. At St. Martin's, she became the "Belle of the Ball". Always perfectly dressed and coifed, she was often chosen to represent the residents of the Home. On one special occasion, she presented flowers to Yumi Hogan, the wife of then Governor Larry Hogan.

Anna had a long and fulfilling life. She was loved and admired by everyone who knew her. She always had a warm smile and a kind word for everyone she met. She made holidays so special for her children, even putting candy and cards in their shoes on Valentine's Day. Her grandchildren remember overnight stays filled with special treats and surprises. She never missed a birthday or special occasion for family or friends.

Anna was a great and wonderful lady who was loved, and will be missed and remembered by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and all who knew her.

The family would like to thank the Sisters and Staff of St. Martin's Home for their loving and devoted care of our mother and grandmother.

On Wednesday, August 16, 2023, there will be a viewing at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Martin's Home with a Liturgy of Christian burial to follow,
