Albert Joseph Loris, 91 years old, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. He was born in South Baltimore, Maryland on March 13, 1931 to the late Ann and Joseph Loris. He is survived by his loving wife Mary and their 4 children; Teresa Michael, Kathleen Roberts and her husband Gary, Elaine Diviney and her husband Thomas, Patricia Locke and her husband Michael; 8 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Al joined the Navy on June 4th, 1951 and served for 4 years. He was Honorably Discharged on June 3, 1955. He did his training in Bainbridge, Maryland and served as a Tool Room Technician. He was stationed in Jacksonville, FL; Memphis, TN; Corpus Christi, TX; and Patuxent River, MD. He was married on August 4, 1956 to Mary Eileen Kinsey. They were married for 65 years. Al & Mary met while they were both working at the B&O Railroad. He loved to read, especially books about war history and politics. He was an avid football fan and held season tickets for many years for the Colts/Ravens.
Al and Mary moved to Charlestown Retirement Community in May 2006 where they spent many years participating in activities and traveling. Al currently resided in Caton Woods assisted living where he had many friends. Al had a gentle and nurturing spirit and was well known for always wanting to behelpful to others. He always took the time to speak to people, remembering their name and things about their life. Al's faith was important to him and he lived out his faith until his last days. Even through the final struggles he remained thankful and kind to those who were caring for him. He truly loved his neighbor as himself.
Services will be held at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church 711 Maiden Choice Lane in Catonsville, MD on Monday June 6th, 2022. Visitation will be from 10-11am with the Funeral Mass beginning at 11am. Interment will immediately follow Mass at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie, MD. By family request, in lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to: Charlestown Benevolent Care Fund Philanthropy Office 719 Maiden Choice Lane Catonsville, MD 21228.
