The Rev'd.Albert L. Clark, died August 17, at Gilchrist Hospice Care, Columbia, MD. He was the son of the late Anthony L. and Ruth E. Clark.Born in Sunbury, PA, and raised Harrisburg, PA., he moved to Surfside Beach, SC in 1998. He loved playing the clarinet.His life in Christ began when he was a member of the Boys and Men's Choir of St. Stephen's Cathedral in Harrisburg, for a decade.

He graduated from the Harrisburg Academy (1951), Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA (A.B., 1955), Virginia Theological Seminary, Alexandria, VA. (M. Div., 1958), and completed advance degree studies at Lancaster Theological Seminary, Lancaster, PA (1974). At Dickinson, he was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, and was one of the five classmates elected to Who's Who in American Universities and Colleges in their senior year.

Prior to his retirement in 2001, Father Clark served parishes of the Episcopal Church for more than forty years: Vicar, St. Andrew's, Tioga, PA (1958-61); Associate, St. George's,Arlington, VA (1961-66); Rector, St. Thomas', Lancaster, PA (1966-74); Rector, St Andrew's, Baltimore, MD (1983-97); and, Associate, Resurrection Church,Surfside Beach, SC (1999-2001). He also served parishes on a short-term basis in Antigua, the West Indies; the Canary Islands; the Diocese of South Carolina; and three other Episcopal Diocese. At his death, he had been canonically resident in the Diocese ofMaryland since 1980, and member of Holy Cross Faith Memorial Church, Pawley's Island, SC.

Secularly, he served as Internal Consultant in Human and Government Relations for the Mill Products Division of Alcoa Aluminum Corp., Lancaster, PA (1974-78), and, as President of Glenwood LIFE Counseling Center, Baltimore, MD (1978-83). Among many offices held, he was President of the Standing Committee of the Diocese of Central Pennsylvania (1973-74), a member of the United Way Board of Directors, Lancaster, PA (1970-74), and President of the Clergy of the Lancaster, PA, County Council of Churches(1972-73). He was named "Man of the Decade" by the Maryland State BoyChoir,Baltimore, MD (1997), for his contributions to the founding of th BoyChoir in 1987. He and Mrs. Clark founded ALNMARY Touring, Inc. planning and escorting 4 European tours (1987-2001).

Surviving are Mary Margaret,his wife of 38 years; two daughters Karen Stewart, Richard, her husband, and Nicolas and Alec,their sons, of Silver Spring, MD, and Brenda Petzold, Paul her husband and their son Craig Heller and Nichole Heller,his wife of Lancaster, PA and Christopher Heller and Ryan Sirois,his partner of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; one son, Alan, and Nisha,his wife, and their children Ajay and Anika of Houston, TX; and two stepsons, Jerry T. Sensenig,Carmen,his wife, and Antonio and Nery, their children of Grovetown,GA, and Thomas E. Sensenig, and Pamela,his wife and two children, Toby and Natalie, of Lancaster, PA. Stephen,Fr. Clark's infant son, preceded him in death in 1965.

A Memorial Service will be help at Our Lady of the Angels Chapel atCharlestown,Catonsville, MD Saturday August 23 at 11:30. His family will greet people before the service at 11:00. Memorials in his name may be given to The Maryland State BoyChoir,3400 Norman Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21213.
