Our History
A Necessary Establishment Providing a Caring Service
Howard and Louise Hubbard founded Hubbard Funeral Home, Inc. in 1941 in Crisfield, Maryland, where they served not only Crisfield and the surrounding towns, but also historic Smith Island.
In 1949, Mr. Hubbard wanted to return to Baltimore and so he moved to Edmondson Avenue in Baltimore City. While operating from the Edmondson Avenue location, he secured our current site and began building the building in which we are now housed.
In 1954, we were relocated to the present location on Wilkens Avenue in Baltimore County. By 1960 he had to add an addition which doubled the size of the building.
In 1975, Howard H. Hubbard retired from the active management of the business and continued as a consultant until his death in 1981.
Today our firm continues to serve the needs of residents of Southwest Baltimore County, the City, Howard, Anne Arundel and Carroll counties as well as the rest of the country and world. Our ever expanding personalized service has been tradition since our inception.
Experienced professionals who are familiar with all the various types of funeral traditions and the grief process are always available to be of assistance.
We quote and explain our funeral charges in advance over the phone to everyone who requests it, and answer all other questions as fully as possible. Our policy is clear in that we desire to provide an uncompromising standard of service.
