Mary L. SeldersMarch 10, 1923 ~ December 24, 2017 (age 94)
Mary Luvada Selders (nee Harvey), passed peacefully into eternal life on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2017, at the Augsburg Lutheran Villiage in Baltimore, Maryland. She was 94.
Mary was born in Davis, WV, and grew up in Preston County, West Virginia. She married her high school sweetheart, Cecil D. Selders, on Christmas day, 1940, and during most of their marriage of 67 years they lived in Fairmont, West Virginia, and in Russell, Kentucky. They were active members of Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont and Bethel Lutheran Church in Russell. An avid gardner and an accomplished needle crafter, Mary was also in several garden and homemaker clubs in both West Virginia and Kentucky. She also spent many happy hours researching her family tree, which she traced back to the Mayflower.
In addition to her husband, Cecil, she was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin Guy Harvey and Dessa Callis Harvey, brothers, Wilson Ward Harvey and Samuel Ross Harvey, and a sister, Virginia Harvey Rembold.
She is survived by daughters Janet Kinneer (David) of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Linda Gamble (Bud) of Laurel, Maryland, and Lois King (Richard) of Worthington, Ohio, grandsons Mark Alan Hart (Paula), TImothy Brian Hart (Tracey), granddaughter Jennifer Gamble Franco (Carlos), great-granddaughters Ashley, Amber, and Sophia Hart, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held with interment beside her husband at the Aurora Cemetery in Preston County, West Virginia, on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 1:30 PM.
